Christmas season is here!!! As hard as it is to believe, it really is here. The time to celebrate Christ’s birth, to be with family and a time of giving.
Giving is such an amazing blessing. I love to give things to people. I think I get more joy out of it than the person I am giving it to. Lol.
There is just something about giving that feels so wonderful. I think it has to come from God giving His son to us. He gave a sacrifice that I don’t think many of us would be able to do. In that gift, He gave us so much I don’t know that we even comprehend everything.
I do know that blessing others with a gift of any kind will bless you more than you may realize. Even a smile could change someone’s day. I remember one time when I was working at the store called Fashion Bug…if you remember it. My boss was really hard on me. Any slight mistake and she would yell at me or say something condescending.
A customer saw this happen one day and I was trying so hard not to cry. She looked at me, gave me the sweetest smile and said, “don’t worry, things will get better.” She made feel so much better and she was right. Shortly after that my boss started being nicer to me. She was never really nice, but I didn’t dread going to work when she was working too.
So, even if you can’t give something physical remember to give a smile, kindness and most of all love. You may not know the affect it will have on someone. You may save a life….or at least help them through something just by showing kindness and love. I hope you have a great week! Talk to you later, Mandy
Motivation Monday…..it started out that way. I got up this morning…I might have hit the snooze button once…or twice. I did finally get up. I made Ben his coffee, packed his lunch and sent him off to work. I decided to get an early start on my chores, which are the dishes and dining room. I felt accomplished for getting such and early start on things. So, I thought I would take a nice relaxing bath. Well, LH woke up early and interrupted that…..but that was ok. Didn’t disrupt my nice morning. Then WYH woke up and he and LH decided to look through their books and look for some to sell so they can make some money. Things were still nice and calm. They were working together figuring out which books were “baby” books and ones they just don’t want to keep anymore. Then WH wakes up and things take a dive….a huge dive….like the kind you feel like you are never going to reach the top again dive. I hear screaming and yelling and bossing around. I hung my head and sighed. It had been such a nice morning. I decided to just leave it alone…they are getting older and I need to start letting them work things out sometimes. I wasn’t sure what would happen I was just hoping no one would end up hurt. Well, the yelling went on for about 5 minutes and it was VERY difficult not to yell what I really wanted to yell. I stayed strong and stayed out of it. Guess what….they quit. They actually quit. They all got cereal, sat down and listened to some silly music. They were kind to each other and let each other choose different music to listen to. Who knows how long this will last, but I’ll take it while I can.
So, when you start getting frustrated try to take a deep breath and calm yourself before you react. That’s a hard one….I know for sure. The more we relax and ask God for His peace and patience the better we will feel and the better our relationships with our kids will be. I hope you all have a womderful day and are able to let your stresses flow away. Talk to you later! Mandy

I will be going live on our Facebook page at 12:00 noon EASTERN time to show you the journal. I will then leave the post up for 24 hours for everyone to see and make comments or ask questions. Remember making comments or asking questions is how you are entered. After the 24 hours are up, I will use a random comment selector to choose the winner. I will post the winners name in the comments and you will have 24 hours to contact me. You do need to be in the USA to win. I would also love it if the winner posted a picture of yourself or your child or just the journal on my Facebook page when you receive it. I look forward to tomorrow! See ya then! Another Monday, another week to get moving and get things done. Gonna be honest….my get up and go, has not gotten up yet. Lol The boys are still asleep and I’m relaxing and reading other bloggers blogs. I am thankful I can do that on a Monday morning. I know most people have to get up early to get the kids ready for school or to get to work or both. When WH went to public virtual school he had to get up a lot earlier and he hated it. We homeschool for several reasons, but being able to take a day and take it slow and easy is such a huge perk. We are going to do some “school work” but today its just going to be a nice easy day. My husband also told me it is National Boston Cream day…so we are going to have to honor that. Lol So, for Motivation Monday, I’m going to tell you to motivate yourself to relax, and take in all the wonderful things in your life right now. Even if things are really crappy, find something positive that has happened, think on that and thank God for it. I hope your week is wonderful and I pray for you all to have some time to sit back and relax a while. Talk to you later! Mandy
No matter your spouse, kids, homeschooling, things happening in the world or just life in general are getting to you, if we lean on Him, we can not be shaken. We have the peace of knowing that He is our firm foundation and He will always take care of us. Find rest and peace in Him. Try to remember to take some time everyday and thank Him even for the difficult things….once you start doing that…they may not seem so difficult. I hope you have a great day! Let me know if there is anything I can add to my prayers for you all! Talk to ya later! Mandy
Hey guys, I know I have posted a lot of stuff today and I promise this will be the last one.
So many kids these days do not know basic life skills. Even employers are struggling to find young people with the basics they need for a job. Check out Skill Trek! It is a really neat company that has ekits and physical kits you can order to help cover a ton of basic life skills. We all try to cover what we know…but we can’t know or remember to teach everything. Skill Trek is a great company that was started by a couple that saw a need and wanted to help fill it. Here is the link, check it out! Share with anyone you think it might help…even adults!

I think this verse describes homeschool mamas perfectly. It covers so many aspects of our homeschool journey. So many times we feel like we have failed at keeping our homes clean, yelling at the kids, not taking care of ourselves,or not gotten through to our kids with their school work or just getting them to listen. We have tried to get them to read the same sentence for 5 days and they STILL can’t. We blame ourselves, our choices….we don’t look at the bigger picture. Maybe it just takes this child a bit longer to grasp…maybe they really arent ready to read yet. We compare ourselves to other homeschooler’s children and we compare ourselves to public school kids, we listen to the negative comments from people that don’t agree with your decision to homeschool. We need to stop all of that, but we also need to realize that we will fall time to time, but how we get back up again is the key. If we allow defeat, what are we teaching our kids, that they aren’t worth teaching? That when things get difficult you just quit. No, you get through the tough time, you move on, you try something new, you talk to your kids and are honest with them. Rise again! Rise strong and determined. Rise with a goal in mind, whether it is a goal for that day, that hour, that minute, accomplish something. Maybe just making your bed, reading a book to your child, taking some time to pray, meditate or whatever helps settle your mind and spirit. Lean on God and He will give you the strength to rise from the frustration, anger, hurt, insecurities. I have to tell myself these things too. We are not alone…we all go through these times, but how you rise from them is what we need to pay attention to. I hope you all have a wonderful Monday and that if you are in the trenches right now, I pray you find strength and rise again! Talk to you soon! Mandy
