Hi there, we have been a little busy this week, how about you?
We started out on Saturday with LH’s first gymnastic competition. The whole team did really well. They each placed in several different events and they won first place for team. They were all so excited to bring home a trophy to the gym.
Since we have had a rough time getting back into our school routine from being sick. We decided to make the rest of December more relaxed and just focus on math, reading and cursive writing.
Yesterday we took it really easy. Lol. We got a nice amount of snow so…..we took a snow day and the boys played outside pretty much the whole day. They had a lot of fun. They slept well last night too!
Anything new with you all? Are you taking it easier or trying to get things tied up before Christmas break?
Don’t forget tomorrow is the Facebook live Thinking Tree review and then the giveaway will be 24 hours after. Make sure to take time to join us live or if you can’t make it to the live be sure to watch it later and make comments to be entered into the giveaway. Talk to you later! Mandy
Hi guys, I am so sorry I haven’t been able to get the giveaways scheduled until now. I also need to apologize because I am only going to the able to schedule two this month due to all the illness we had. Don’t worry, we weren’t contagious. Lol
Anyway, since I am not able to do the three giveaways this month like planned. I will have two in December and two in January! How’s that?
The first giveaway will be this Thursday the 14th at 12:00 noon Eastern time and the second giveaway will be Wednesday the 20th at 12:00 noon Eastern Time. Like always, to enter, just comment or ask a question on the live Facebook video. You will have 24 hours to make comments so everyone has a chance to see it and get in on the giveaway. I will announce the winner after the 24 hours are up. Here is the Facebook link.
We truly appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers while we were sick. Talk to you all soon! Mandy
Hi guys!! I think we are all better now….at least for the most part. Lol. I hope you all are doing well.
Do you believe it is almost Christmas? This year has flown by. I’m curious, do you stress over all the Christmas activities and gift getting and giving? I used to, but then I realized that this is the time of year to remember all the blessings and joy God has given to us. Yes, things may be frustrating, maybe you aren’t where you planned to be in your kiddos schooling or your stressed over the money you don’t have to buy gifts, you feel like you don’t have enough time to get things done….and so on.
Guess what, first of all you are not alone. Second, don’t worry about it. Things will fall into place and you know what, if they don’t, then they don’t. Don’t allow it to get you down. Don’t allow frustration and fear or disappointment to drag you down. Look at what you have, beautiful children, a roof over your head, food in your bellies and a God that loves you more than you can comprehend. Sometimes it is difficult to see the blessings in our lives. If that is you right now, try to be thankful for the air in your lungs, for your heart beating for any one small thing. I pray you can find something to be thankful for and that you have a fun time with your family this Christmas season. Talk to you soon, Mandy
P.S. Watch for a video announcement this week on our Facebook page.
Logitow is a neat combination of mixed realities. They sent us a sample to try and it is a really fun and exciting concept.
There is a key block that connects via Bluetooth to your phone or tablet. You use the Logitow app to watch as your physical creation is also being built on your screen as you build. Your creations can even become animated! There are different building challenges to complete or you can build in your own creative world. WYH said, “this is the best thing ever!”
If you use The Thinking Tree journals, but don’t like to use Minecraft as part of the lessons because they are completely on the computer or tv with no physical building, you may really like Logitow. With these blocks they would be able to complete the Minecraft build, but with physical blocks and in their own world in the Logitow app where it can be saved.
We look forward to watching Logitow grow and expand their building blocks and app. They even have specialty pieces that create unique shapes and designs. They are still in the crowd funding stage so they need some help. Here is their indiegog page if you would like to get your order in during the early stages. Please share this post to help spread the word about Logitow.

Hello everyone! How is your week going so far? Our’s has been pretty smooth and fun. So far no real bumps or craziness. Lol We had such a fun day yesterday! Remember I told you the Pittsburgh Symphony at Heinz Hall has free school shows. Well, that was yesterday. It was so cool! The foyer where we walked in first wasn’t that fancy. Just a few neat things. When they opened the doors to the inner foyer…our boys were in awe at the fancy decor and stairways. The awe continued as the usher took us to our seats in the hall. It is the fanciest place the boys have ever been to. We were the first people in our seats and the boys got to see the musicians slowly come out to tune their instruments and practice before they started. WYH loved seeing the huge harp, but was a bit disappointed he couldn’t hear it when she played. LH was checking out the different drum sounds…especially the big and low sounding kettle drums. WH liked everything and thought the building was amazing. The only thing that could have made it better for them was if we would have been seated in one of the balconies. Lol After the show was over, we walked down the street a bit and checked out a couple buildings and a pretty fountain. Then we headed to the Carnegie Science Center. The boys were in heaven.
They loved everything there! We did everything from learning how water systems work, like plumbing and river dams to how the body works, robots and machines, a laser show, a submarine tour and about natural disasters. They even had an earthquake simulator and all that was only in the first building!
We finished all that fun stuff and headed over to the sports complex. LH, WH and I had a blast on the high ropes course.
WYH loved the spinning thing that would send you flying off if you went too fast. We all had fun playing a giant hockey game together. I have to say it was one of ….if not the best field trip we have ever taken. We look forward to going again! Thank you Pittsburgh for such a wonderful time! We can’t wait to go back!
How is your week going? Anything fun and new? Is it one of those weeks you wish was over already? I hope you are having a good week and I hope ours continues to be good! Have a great day! I hope to see you tomorrow for our first guest on our Facebook page. It will be fun, there will be a giveaway and they made a special coupon code for my followers! I hope to see you all there! Talk to you later, Mandy

Good Morning! Monday has come yet again.
So, yesterday we went to see a play at a local theater. My sister in-law and brother in-law were both in it…so we wanted to make sure we went to see them in their first play. They are 10 and 12…I think. I’m so bad with birthdays . Anyway, it was a special needs production of “Honked Jr.” A very cute version of “The Ugly Duckling.” Just to give you a little background on me, I am not a crier (is that how you spell that?) I don’t like to cry and I don’t cry easily. Ok, now that I told you that, on with the story.
The lights blinked and it was time for the play to start. The producer came out and explained how things work in a special needs play. Each actor had an attendant to help them and the attendant would be dressed in black. They attendants would be there to help with lines if they forgot them or to help them remember where to go. They also had subtitles to help you follow the story because some of them had trouble speaking.
Well, the first big song started and everyone singing together, some could speak clearly, some a little mumbled and a few of them it was more of a grunt. I lost it! I started tearing up and then down the cheek they went. It touched my heart so deeply to see these people on the stage giving it their all, not being afraid of what people will think or say. They were so brave. They were amazing! I get nervous just to talk to a person one on one sometimes and I don’t have issues with my voice or a physical issue that make some people uncomfortable. They were inspiring! I have always thought that God chooses parents of special needs kids as a blessing to them and that they are very special parents to have been chosen to care for a child with a special need. I admire them and their child.
I have never been so touched by something as simple as a silly play just did. Well, not the play, but the wonderful people in the play. They sang their hearts out and put everything into their character. I wish I had better words to express how they made me feel. Our boys loved it too. I wasn’t sure how they would react. They have been around some kids with special needs, but you still never know how they will take it I can’t wait to take them to the next one. I believe going to these plays will help our boys learn to look on the inside and passed whatever is on the outside. I know this wasn’t exactly a motivational post, I just had to share it with you all. Watching The play was so inspiring and touching to to me. If they can get up there and do what they did on stage, why am I holding back on things? Why am I letting fear stop me? I need to move on, not worry about what others think, say or do. I need to do what I feel is best for our family and so do you!
I hope you all have a great day and that this week goes well. Thank you for following us and our journey. It really means a lot to me. If you are able to I would love to hear what your fears are…what is holding you back? Let us come together to support and pray to help each other overcome these fears. Talk to you later, Mandy
