Hi guys! I hope you had a great weekend. Do you believe in a week it will be Christmas?! It is such a wonderful time of year. I love all the decorations, lights, and Christmas music. One thing I have learned from past Christmas’s (is that the correct punctuation?) is not not to let myself get caught up in things and stress out. Not to allow buying gifts, making the perfect cookies or rushing around to steal the joy out of the season.
We try to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas, our family and making memories. I think Christmas has become so commercialized that people forget to slow down and use the time to just be. Just he with your family. Just be at home. Just take time to relax and reflect. I hope you take some time to just be. To enjoy the season and have some fun. To let loose a little. Don’t worry about the house, sit down and play with your kiddos.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! I will finish up posting things this week and have the Thinking Tree giveaway on Wednesday at noon Eastern. After I announce the winner I will be taking two weeks off. I may post things here or there, but not much! I’ll talk to you all later! Mandy
Hi there, we have been a little busy this week, how about you?
We started out on Saturday with LH’s first gymnastic competition. The whole team did really well. They each placed in several different events and they won first place for team. They were all so excited to bring home a trophy to the gym.
Since we have had a rough time getting back into our school routine from being sick. We decided to make the rest of December more relaxed and just focus on math, reading and cursive writing.
Yesterday we took it really easy. Lol. We got a nice amount of snow so…..we took a snow day and the boys played outside pretty much the whole day. They had a lot of fun. They slept well last night too!
Anything new with you all? Are you taking it easier or trying to get things tied up before Christmas break?
Don’t forget tomorrow is the Facebook live Thinking Tree review and then the giveaway will be 24 hours after. Make sure to take time to join us live or if you can’t make it to the live be sure to watch it later and make comments to be entered into the giveaway. Talk to you later! Mandy
Hi guys, I am so sorry I haven’t been able to get the giveaways scheduled until now. I also need to apologize because I am only going to the able to schedule two this month due to all the illness we had. Don’t worry, we weren’t contagious. Lol
Anyway, since I am not able to do the three giveaways this month like planned. I will have two in December and two in January! How’s that?
The first giveaway will be this Thursday the 14th at 12:00 noon Eastern time and the second giveaway will be Wednesday the 20th at 12:00 noon Eastern Time. Like always, to enter, just comment or ask a question on the live Facebook video. You will have 24 hours to make comments so everyone has a chance to see it and get in on the giveaway. I will announce the winner after the 24 hours are up. Here is the Facebook link.
We truly appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers while we were sick. Talk to you all soon! Mandy
Hi guys!! I think we are all better now….at least for the most part. Lol. I hope you all are doing well.
Do you believe it is almost Christmas? This year has flown by. I’m curious, do you stress over all the Christmas activities and gift getting and giving? I used to, but then I realized that this is the time of year to remember all the blessings and joy God has given to us. Yes, things may be frustrating, maybe you aren’t where you planned to be in your kiddos schooling or your stressed over the money you don’t have to buy gifts, you feel like you don’t have enough time to get things done….and so on.
Guess what, first of all you are not alone. Second, don’t worry about it. Things will fall into place and you know what, if they don’t, then they don’t. Don’t allow it to get you down. Don’t allow frustration and fear or disappointment to drag you down. Look at what you have, beautiful children, a roof over your head, food in your bellies and a God that loves you more than you can comprehend. Sometimes it is difficult to see the blessings in our lives. If that is you right now, try to be thankful for the air in your lungs, for your heart beating for any one small thing. I pray you can find something to be thankful for and that you have a fun time with your family this Christmas season. Talk to you soon, Mandy
P.S. Watch for a video announcement this week on our Facebook page.
Hi guys! I can’t believe it is Wednesday already. We have been trying to get our routine back in order after last week. Not, that we have a real strict routine, but it is nice to have a little consistency in our home. Lol. As you all know, we have had ear infections, sinus infections and pneumonia going on here. Everyone seems to be getting better though. WH is feeling much better. He is still tired, but not as much as a couple days ago. We we’re finally able to get some Thinking Tree journal time in and we read some more books together. LH and WYH worked on some math too. WH has mostly been working on some independent things with his journals and watching documentaries. WYH, LH and I tried to build a gingerbread house yesterday. It didn’t go so well. Lol. The icing just didn’t hold strong enough and well, here is the final result. Lol. It was so fun though. All three of us had fun making a mess, eating the candy and watching it crumble. Lol. LH had his gymnastic exhibition this past Saturday. He was so nervous about it, but once he got to the gym and with his coaches and teammates he calmed down and did amazing. He loves it so much. We love watching him too.
Poor WH has missed his archery club the last three weeks. Once because we forgot and the last two because of being sick. We are hoping he will be able to go next week. He had a really good time when he went before and he loves shooting his bow. So, that has been what we have been up to, not too exciting. Lol. How has your week been? Were you able to go on any fun field trips or did something finally click for your child that has been a struggle for them? Were you sick like we have been? Let us know, we love hearing from you! I hope you have a great rest of the day! Talk to you later! Mandy
Logitow is a neat combination of mixed realities. They sent us a sample to try and it is a really fun and exciting concept.
There is a key block that connects via Bluetooth to your phone or tablet. You use the Logitow app to watch as your physical creation is also being built on your screen as you build. Your creations can even become animated! There are different building challenges to complete or you can build in your own creative world. WYH said, “this is the best thing ever!”
If you use The Thinking Tree journals, but don’t like to use Minecraft as part of the lessons because they are completely on the computer or tv with no physical building, you may really like Logitow. With these blocks they would be able to complete the Minecraft build, but with physical blocks and in their own world in the Logitow app where it can be saved.
We look forward to watching Logitow grow and expand their building blocks and app. They even have specialty pieces that create unique shapes and designs. They are still in the crowd funding stage so they need some help. Here is their indiegog page if you would like to get your order in during the early stages. Please share this post to help spread the word about Logitow.
Wow, its Thanksgiving week already!
I love Thanksgiving. Its a time to reflect and look at your life to see and remember what you are truly thankful for. It’s a time to take a break, relax, and to enjoy eating together. I really hope, especially if you have been stressed or just had a rough year, that you can take some time to look back and write down some things that happened that you are truly thankful for. Write it down even if its just one small thing. Tuck it away in your Bible, a book you are reading or are going to read. Stick it somewhere you will find it unexpectedly one day, put it in a scrap book or make it look pretty and frame it so you can see it and think if it often. Just remember it. Remember the good things, look beyond the sad, hurtful, mad and frustrating times and find the happy memories.
Think of times you may have helped others. Maybe you were able to bless someone with a gift or even just a smile. Remember the good times. Rememeber to be thankful for all you do have. Most important remember to love and to accept love. We are all worthy of love and that is what this whole Thanksgiving and Christmas season is about.
I pray your Thanksgiving is a blessed and relaxed time with family, friends or both. Talk to you later! Mandy
