Motivation Monday

Hi guys!! I think we are all better now….at least for the most part. Lol. I hope you all are doing well.

Do you believe it is almost Christmas? This year has flown by. I’m curious, do you stress over all the Christmas activities and gift getting and giving? I used to, but then I realized that this is the time of year to remember all the blessings and joy God has given to us. Yes, things may be frustrating, maybe you aren’t where you planned to be in your kiddos schooling or your stressed over the money you don’t have to buy gifts, you feel like you don’t have enough time to get things done….and so on.

Guess what, first of all you are not alone. Second, don’t worry about it. Things will fall into place and you know what, if they don’t, then they don’t. Don’t allow it to get you down. Don’t allow frustration and fear or disappointment to drag you down. Look at what you have, beautiful children, a roof over your head, food in your bellies and a God that loves you more than you can comprehend. Sometimes it is difficult to see the blessings in our lives. If that is you right now, try to be thankful for the air in your lungs, for your heart beating for any one small thing. I pray you can find something to be thankful for and that you have a fun time with your family this Christmas season. Talk to you soon, Mandy

P.S. Watch for a video announcement this week on our Facebook page.

What’s Up Wednesday

Hi guys! I can’t believe it is Wednesday already. We have been trying to get our routine back in order after last week. Not, that we have a real strict routine, but it is nice to have a little consistency in our home. Lol. As you all know, we have had ear infections, sinus infections and pneumonia going on here. Everyone seems to be getting better though. WH is feeling much better. He is still tired, but not as much as a couple days ago. We we’re finally able to get some Thinking Tree journal time in and we read some more books together. LH and WYH worked on some math too. WH has mostly been working on some independent things with his journals and watching documentaries. WYH, LH and I tried to build a gingerbread house yesterday. It didn’t go so well. Lol. The icing just didn’t hold strong enough and well, here is the final result. Lol. It was so fun though. All three of us had fun making a mess, eating the candy and watching it crumble. Lol. LH had his gymnastic exhibition this past Saturday. He was so nervous about it, but once he got to the gym and with his coaches and teammates he calmed down and did amazing. He loves it so much. We love watching him too.

Poor WH has missed his archery club the last three weeks. Once because we forgot and the last two because of being sick. We are hoping he will be able to go next week. He had a really good time when he went before and he loves shooting his bow. So, that has been what we have been up to, not too exciting. Lol. How has your week been? Were you able to go on any fun field trips or did something finally click for your child that has been a struggle for them? Were you sick like we have been? Let us know, we love hearing from you! I hope you have a great rest of the day! Talk to you later! Mandy

Motivation (Not Really) Monday

Just gonna be honest. I’m tired, my house is a mess and I’m not feeling so motivated today. With all the stuff that has been going on the last few days, I am going to do a little lesson with the boys, have them watch some educational videos and try to clean up the house a bit. We will all be so glad when everyone is healthy and things get back into a little bit of a routine again.

I will do my best to get our Thinking Tree giveaways scheduled soon. I hope you all have a great day!! Mandy

What’s Up Wednesday

Well, our week hasn’t been so great. I took our boys to the doctor yesterday morning because they were all congested and just weren’t getting better. Two of them had ear infections and poor WH has pneumonia and was admitted to the hospital. We are hoping he gets out later this afternoon, but all depends on his levels.

So, I probably won’t be around much this week. All prayers for my boys are so appreciated.

I hope your week is going better than ours. Let me know what you all are up to. Talk to you later, Mandy

Motivation Monday

Christmas season is here!!! As hard as it is to believe, it really is here. The time to celebrate Christ’s birth, to be with family and a time of giving.

Giving is such an amazing blessing. I love to give things to people. I think I get more joy out of it than the person I am giving it to. Lol.

There is just something about giving that feels so wonderful. I think it has to come from God giving His son to us. He gave a sacrifice that I don’t think many of us would be able to do. In that gift, He gave us so much I don’t know that we even comprehend everything.

I do know that blessing others with a gift of any kind will bless you more than you may realize. Even a smile could change someone’s day. I remember one time when I was working at the store called Fashion Bug…if you remember it. My boss was really hard on me. Any slight mistake and she would yell at me or say something condescending.

A customer saw this happen one day and I was trying so hard not to cry. She looked at me, gave me the sweetest smile and said, “don’t worry, things will get better.” She made feel so much better and she was right. Shortly after that my boss started being nicer to me. She was never really nice, but I didn’t dread going to work when she was working too.

So, even if you can’t give something physical remember to give a smile, kindness and most of all love. You may not know the affect it will have on someone. You may save a life….or at least help them through something just by showing kindness and love. I hope you have a great week! Talk to you later, Mandy

What’s Up Wednesday!

Howdy! Have you started your Thanksgiving break yet? We did today. The boys decided to work hard Monday and get all their work done and then a Christmas play on Tuesday and that was it. It was a cute play called, “Where’s Rudolph?” The producer actually wrote the play and was very proud of it. The cast were all kids and they were from kindergarten age to eighth grade. It was an anti bullying theme. They did a great job and we all really enjoyed it.

Today we are getting the house cleaned up and some baking done for tomorrow and then hopefully some time to just relax. Tomorrow we will go to my grandmother’s for a big Thanksgiving dinner. We usually go to my Aunt’s house after, but it will be strange this year because she passed away in August and we won’t be having that dinner tomorrow night. Although it will give us more time to relax at home…it will be a bit sad and odd not to go there.

I always look forward to the weekend after Thanksgiving. That’s when we get our Christmas tree and start our Advent story. I guess I will tell you more about how all that goes next Wednesday. I hope and pray you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Talk to you later! Mandy
