Happy Tuesday guys!

I wanted to let you know you all are doing an amazing job at helping me get new readers/followers! We only need 21 more by Thursday morning to get to the goal and have an extra birthday special live FB review and giveaway! Keep sharing! You guys are amazing!

Also, please make sure to visit my FB page for links to neat educational items. I post them when they are on sale or if I just think they are really cool! I have a few affiliate links on my blog page that I recommend too. I try to stick with small businesses because I love to support them and I like what they are providing. I just found out we will be getting our KidArtLit box next week, so that review will be coming up in the next few weeks. I’ll keep you posted. Have a great day!

So, here is the link for you to check it out. Let me know if you have any trouble with the link! Hope you are having a great day!

Had to Share…

WYH came to the table this morning and said, “Oh, I have to get Pandy!” I said, “Oh?” Then WYH replied, “Yea, he homeschools now.” Lol It was so cute!

I love homeschooling our boys! Yes, we have ups and downs and downs and ups, but to send them away for so many hours a day and so many days a week….I just couldn’t handle it. Let alone all the other reasons. I love being with my boys and teaching them and watching them learn on their own. Its such a privilege to have this time together. Soon enough they will be on their own…but for now, they are here and I am going to enjoy that. Hope you all have a good day!

Good Morning!

Hi guys! I hope you all had a nice relaxing weekend. We enjoyed our time together. Finally a weekend that we didn’t have anything planned. I wanted to share WH’s brownies he made from the Yum-Schooling cookbook. He did a really great job and they tasted so good! This is only the second recipe/lesson he has completed out of his cooking journal, but I am already seeing learning and improving in his ,following instructions skills. A lot of times he wants to skip around and do whatever it is, in his order…which sometimes is ok and other times not so ok. Lol He is realizing that the steps are important. He did make one mistake, he put the cocoa in with the butter and sugar instead of with the flour. I told him this time he was lucky, that mistake should notcl cause you a problem….but if it would have been the flour it could have really messed you up. He really likes the Yum-schooling book and he looks forward to every Thursday when he gets to use it. He didn’t even complain about answering the questions this time! Lol I love watching my children grow and learn. Yes, it can be VERY trying and you just want to scream, but it is such a gift and honor to be their mother. Every day I try to be better. I try to yell less, be more patient, be more loving. I fail a lot, but I will never keep trying to be the best mom I can be. I do have times where I get down on myself or feel like the worst mom in the world, but then one of my boys comes up to me and gives me a hug and a kiss and I know I must be doing some things right. So, no matter what, even on days where you are ready to throw in the towel and send them to school, remember the reason you chose to homeschool, look at your children or child and take it minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day. You got this! If you need support, I am here to listen. Post a comment and I and I’m sure the other homeschool mom’s that follow my blog will encourage you. I am also going to start praying everyday for everyone that follows my blog. I want you to be encouraged and to get to a place where you know you can do this and so can your kiddo. I hope you all have a great day and that your week is fun and any break throughs that you are waiting for will start to have some light shining through! Talk to you later! Mandy I also wanted to make sure you all know. I post links to websites in my resources page. So, if you want to check something out that I talk about you can find them there. See ya!

Hot wheels!

Hot wheels for school? Why not! WH wanted to make a short video showing how his track worked and so we talked about centrifugal force and gravity. You can use so many things to teach your kiddos. Make learning fun!

Love it!

Love it when school happens when I didn’t even say anything. WYH on his own started looking at our Life of Fred Beginners reading books and LH joined in. I was going to have them go on Reading Eggs and Mathseeds, but I am not interrupting this! Hope you all are having a great day!

Hey You Guys!!!

Yep, I used a phrase from The Goonies! Lol I am so excited! So, you all know we are using The Thinking Tree books by Sarah Janisse Brown. Well… a thank you for telling you all about them, she sent me several of her journals to giveaway! So, keep an eye out for how and when to enter!! I am going to be giving them away over the few months so make sure to check in on my blog!

First Day

We had our first day of school today. It went pretty well. Like I told you we are changing things up this year to try and make our learning more geared towards the boys interests. Using the Thinking Tree Journals really helps with that. WH told me he really enjoyed using his Minecraft Journal. I wasn’t sure how he would like it, but he really did. I think the variety of activities helps keep him engaged. He also started Kidney’s in Life of Fred Intermediate. He LOVES Life of Fred! We have added No More Tears cursive book and he seems to enjoy it. I really feel kids need to learn cursive.

LH enjoyed everything he did today. He used his Minecraft journal, that is a version for younger kids. He also practiced reading with Hooked on Phonics. He likes their spelling books too. He picked out animal books to read during our reading time. He also did some writing practice and did an amazing job. I was going to have him start a new Comic book math, but he wanted to get his one from last year and finish it first….works for me. Lol

WYH struggled a bit. He did awesome at math, but is struggling with reading. He thinks differently than our other two boys and I need to find the right way to help him. He has trouble remembering the letter sounds. I may try having him watch some alphabet videos…maybe the visuals and audio will help him. Any suggestions welcome! So, for our first day back we were all pretty happy. Our fun schooling year has begun. I hope you all have a fantastic year and enjoy reading about ours. I also help I encourage you in your homeschool. I know its nice to hear when another homeschooler had a difficult day and also when things go well. Feel free to comment positive things and your frustrations here. I am hear to listen and encourage. Have a great week and have some fun with your kiddos!
